Canada Waterfowl Hunting, Saskatchewan Waterfowl Hunting, Saskatchewan Duck Hunts

At Safari River Outdoors we are proud to offer a very rich and productive 5 day waterfowl hunting experience that includes field hunts for decoying honkers, pond hunting for several species of dabblers and hunting the big water for speedy but game divers. On top of this we have a very challenging 10 station sporting clay range to hone your skills and share with your hunting companions. Add to this a little pike fishing on a beautiful northern lake and a campfire at the end of the day and you begin to see why our hunters keep coming back. Our unique location at the northern most end of the farmland sees us hunting birds that have had little or no hunting pressure ensuring decoying action and "in range" shooting.

Goose Hunts

Opportunities include Greater and Lesser Canadas, Speckle-Belles and Snows, with the greater Canadas making up about 80% of the harvest. Most all our goose hunts take place in the farmland using both layout and willow blinds and bigfoot and shell decoys. The Specks and Snows generally do not show up until mid-September. All goose hunting is in the morning and we get in a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3 goose shoots per 5 day trip.

Duck Hunts

Opportunities include Mallards, Bluebills, Ringnecks, Widgeons, Gadwals, Pintails, Shoveller, Greenwing and Bluewing Teals, Canvasbacks, Redheads, Goldeneyes and Bufflehead. What our duck hunters continually comment on is the variety of both species and habitat. 90% of our ducks are taken over water. We use portable blinds for our pond shoots and 18 foot go-devil boats for the open water. Most groups in the course of 5 days will take 10 to 11 different species. Grouse hunting is also available after the September 15 opener. Generally on a 5 day trip we will spend an afternoon chasing ruffies and spruce grouse in the forest.

Bear/Bird Combination hunts

How about hunting geese in the morning and sitting in a treestand the same evening waiting for a bear? Because of our unique location we can offer bear hunting to our bird hunting clients. These are very popular hunts and are run in early September.

Guides

I have learned in my many years in the industry that "getting it done" is one thing but "getting it done" and having a good time are quite another. It is with this in mind that I make my decisions on who I want working with me in camp. My guides, in addition to being competent and self starters in the field, must also be someone that I or my clients would want to spend time with. These guys are competent, passionate about what they do and fun to hunt with.
